Ministry of Finance is yet to have Budget approved.

Leader of Parliament, Mr. Alban Bagbin, has restated his position that the 2024 budget statement and economic policy has not been passed.

The majority tried a walkout last Wednesday, after a voice vote to pass the budget was challenged by the minority causing the Speaker to call for a headcount. The majority had insisted the budget had been approved even though the minority disagreed. In Parliament, the Speaker directed the business committee to reschedule the headcount to this week for a final decision to be taken on the budget.

For a very good reason, no decision has been taken yet as the Speaker wants a complete headcount or votes to stablish that the house has permanently and aggreeably passed the budget.

The Ministry of Finance, after declaration of the long awaited budget has stayed its purpose getting ready for the passing and complete acceptance of the budget by parliament this week. Ghanaians as well as parliament seeks to settle the debates with votes counts.
